Problems with a Nikon Coolscan-4000

sbp2 still has problems dealing with device specific requests (default
code, 2.4.22). The main issue is that I cannot scan more than six frames
at a time and have to cut the rolls in order to fully scan them. Has
anyone found a workaround for this yet (or have the Nikon specs so that
I can hack the driver)?
