Hi all,

I have a Compaq 2540. I eventually installed Mandrake 9.2 on it.

While trying to install it the usuall way, the comp hangs while
extracting the ohci1394 module.

This recurs also when booting to rescue mode.

I used expert nodetect to install the OS.

This is the relevant lspci line regarding the IEEE1394 chipset:

00:0c.0 FireWire (IEEE 1394): Texas Instruments TSB43AB21
IEEE-1394a-2000 Controller (PHY/Link)

I am currently running Kernel 2.4.22-10mdk.

Is it possible to compile a module and pass it in the install process?

Any other ideas?

I am kinda newbie to these issues,

Thanks,

Amichai.
