So the only worry is the host controller in the PC? And logically following
that, is an external enclosure that is said to be PC and MAC compatible
automatically going to be SBP-2 compliant?

PCILynx and OHCI are types of host controllers, i.e. the adapter cards in
the PC. Storage devices need to be SBP-2 compliant.
