Firewire on 2.6?

Hi all,

I was just thinking to upgrade my system to the latest 2.6 kernel but
would like to know if the firewire stack is stable on the latest kernel?

I need to use multiple cameras and possibly multiple OHCI cards as well,
and this needs to work robustly.

Also, I remember seeing something about a replacement for dc1394 for the
2.6 kernel? Is this true? Where do I find more information about this
new library? Does dc1394 work properly on 2.6?
