No, the physical connector on the card is meaningless unless you have a
multi-port card. But your usage of the term "port" differs from what I
mean by a "multi-port card." In IEEE 1394 terms, a "port" refers to a
virtual host adapter. In IEEE 1394, the software interface knows nothing
about physical connectors. However, on a multi-port card, some connector
are assigned to one virtual host adapter or another. What is the model
of your adapter?
