Hi,
I did it the unpleasant way - I opened up my Firewire drive and looked
at the chips on the controller. There were two fairly large ones and
one had a number ending in "C". I guessed that there must be chip
versions above "A" and "B" and it seemed that the "B" update was what I
needed.
Be careful if you do this - I had to lift a sticker off the chip and I
might have damaged the controller with static electricity. I also
probably invalidated any warranty.
As soon as I have the opportunity, I'll collect the output from gscanbus
and post it for you to compare with your own. It didn't seem to show if
I had an "A" or other chip but maybe someone else will know what to look
for.
