Sony PCGA-DVRW1 Portable DVD Read/Write Unit

Hi

I am trying to connect a PCGA-DRW1 unit to the 2.6.2 kernel, with little
luck. From this recenenly made available device from
Sony, I get the dmesg output:

ieee1394: Error in SelfID stage, resetting
ohci1394: fw-host0: SelfID is inconsistent [0x817f817f/0x80d07e80]

ieee1394: Stopping out-of-control reset loop
ieee1394: Warning - topology map and speed map will not be valid

Any suggestions or pointers would be greatly appreciated.
