Sorry if this is a duplicate message. I don't know if the other message was
sent or not.
I just purchased an "evaluation version" of a new 1394b card that's about to
come onto the market. The card, made by Indigita, provides four separate
channels (not connectors, 4 separate host adapters) of 1394b on a 133Mhz/64 bit
PCI-X card. The card is specifically meant to be used in software RAID
applications.
To my knowledge, no extra drivers are required to use this card in Windows or
Mac OS. I think those operating systems just recognize the card as four 1394b
host adapters (on one card).
Does anybody have a sense whether this card should work in Linux under either
the 2.4.22+ kernels or the 2.6.2+ kernels? I plan to try installing it under
the 2.6.3 kernel this weekend.
