This works with all Linux distros. Another option is the UUID of
the filesystem instead of its label. -> man fstab
There are just some problems with this method (as far as I know):
- Not all filesystems provide a label or UUID.
- From the filesystems that support labels, the mount command
only recognizes those on ext2, ext3, and XFS filesystems.
- This method does not solve the stated problem for other SCSI
devices like CD-ROMs.
