Hi,
I have installed an external firewire hard drive (external SCSI firewire/IDE
adapter "box" and Hard Drive Maxtor Diamondmax Plus 9 160 Go ATA 133), I
sucessed in partionning and formating the hard drive but I have several problems :
I have got a linux debian unstable and a 2.6.3 Kernel, for further information
about my system, see the lspci dump at the end of the mail. The Kernel got all
the ohci1394, ieee1394, sbp2, scsi device and emulation support features hard
compiled in a monolithic kernel !
The Problems :
I sucessed to copy files for the "local" hard drive to the external firewire
hardrive with a good transfert rate. But on the other side, I have very low
transfert rate from the external firewire box to the "local" hard drive (1
MegaBytes/minutes !).
The hard drive is recognized as a 137 Gigabytes (it's a 160 !) ! (maybe it comes
from my motherboard, I have a COmpaq Presario 2158 EA and maybe bios recognized
upper 137 Gigabytes hard drive).
Can You Help me to know and correct these problems
Thank You.
Alex
