But they should compile... and SuSE should have a precompiled 2.4
kernel. (Don't know if they actually have one; the 9.1 DVD seems
to come with 2.6 only which would be a shame.)

The trace is not a failure. It is only a debug message informing
of an unclean function call in one of the 1394 drivers. I doubt
this has anything to do with the problems to operate the camera,
but then I don't do video stuff myself.
