I think you need the scsi stuff as a module. I think sbp2 is like usb-storage in that it needs to be in as a module before you load your scsi modules. not sure if this is the case with sbp2 but i think it might be. I have mine as modules and my fw enclosures for the most part work (have a 4 bay that is currently only seen as a two bay.)
