Nearly. If the other machine worked it would still be no clear
hint why the main machine does not.

For example. Then look up in the kernel configurator what
influence the differing options may have.
Bear in mind though that you are not looking for a fault in the
kernel config but for a bug in ieee1394 or underlying code
(which may be masked on e.g. my PC due to my differing kernel
config, or for other reasons).

What I meant was 1. I am not confident that the messages enabled
by "verbose debug" reveal the cause of the command abortions.
2. When you become familiar with the matter (what are the
conditions, where to look for diagnostics etc.), post in the
relevant developers list(s). --- These "aborting sbp2 command"
errors are a tough matter however.
