As yet in 2.6 I see both compatibility and thruput harmed unless I
specify serialize_io. Compatibility we spoke of already, but then next
from a friend I borrowed a 165GB FireWire HDD that does Not need
serialize_io for compatibility, and now I can compare thruput:
With serialize_io=1: 27.9 MB/s reading in, 20.6 MB/s writing out
Without serialize_io: 18.0 MB/s reading in, 20.1 MB/s writing out
Might this be a different bug? In that device or in Linux? Can I help
find out?
