storage device
(firewire enclosure for 3.5" ide harddrives)
manufacturer: lava technologies mfg.

i've also posted to your compatibility charts on the sf.net site

this is a ieee1394 case for 3.5" harddrives, originally manufactured in
2000. It has an ide-firwire host controller in it.

the chipset is not listed in your pulldown menu...its a TSB41LV02 (NOT
TSB41LVO3, i selected this one because it was closest alpha-numerically)
with an OXFW900-TQ-A (A0004G)

the driver says this in dmesg
(using kernel 2.6.5 and 2.6.8.1, tried two different firewire cards, both
with same results:

<snip>

sbp2: $Rev: 1219 $ Ben Collins <bcollins@debian.org>
scsi0 : SCSI emulation for IEEE-1394 SBP-2 Devices
ieee1394: sbp2: Error logging into SBP-2 device - login timed-out
sbp2: probe of 00043b0000000795-1 failed with error -16

i've tried this with the same results using `modprobe sbp2
force_inquiry_hack=1` also, the drivers are compiled as modules or in the
kernel, the results are the same.

thanks
