Okay - got libiec61883 downloaded and built. test-plugs reports
absolutely nothing. It just sits there until I Ctrl-C it, then it
reports "done".
plugreport reports:
Host Adapter 0
==============
Node 0
-------
libiec61883 error: error reading oMPR
libiec61883 error: error reading iMPR
Node 1
-------
libiec61883 error: error reading oMPR
libiec61883 error: error reading iMPR
Node 2
-------
oMPR #plugs=1, data rate=0, broadcast channel=63
oPCR[0] online=1, #bcast connection=0, #p2p connections=0
channel=0, data rate=2, overhead id=0, payload=376
iMPR #plugs=0, data rate=2
Incidentally, lspci reports the following for the firewire card:
02:00.0 FireWire (IEEE 1394): Lucent Microelectronics FW323 (rev 61)
(prog-if 10 [OHCI])
Subsystem: Unknown device 8919:0400

Memory at dfeff000 (32-bit, non-prefetchable) [size=4K]
Capabilities: [44] Power Management version 2

I do, but I'd have to find the right cable. The second box would have
to be a Sony VAIO, and I can't find my 4-pin to 6-pin firewire cable at
the moment!
