If you don't need hotplugging, get the latest SVN trunk from
www.linux1394.org and compile your kernel with these drivers.
The issue was fixed there just recently.
If you need hotplugging, try the workaround described here:

I only tested it with kernels up to 2.6.9, though. And I hear that it
doesn't work if you compile SBP2 as a module.
