  I think you really need another chip for this application. As has been
stated, the IDE/ATA bridge really isn't meant to do this. I am currently
working on a board that transfers a 16-bit wide raw data stream using iso
to a PC. The dumpiso example in libraw worked out-of-the-box to capture
data and is a good starting point on the PC side.
  On the hardware side, you should really look into a TI or Philips chipset
that is meant to stream this kind of data. Also, a company called Traquair
makes a module to do this:

This saves you from having to write an embedded side driver to control the
TI (or whatever) chipset. It just presets you with a 16-bit bus to write
the data to and it handles the 1394 bus management, however it is more
expensive.
