2. New MS Word Virus -- W97M_GOGA.A
------------------------------------------------------------------------
W97M_GOGA.A is a macro virus that exploits a vulnerability of Microsoft Word,
which enables access to and execution of templates from the Internet, without
prompting the built-in Macro security feature of Microsoft Word. It also gathers
information about the infected user's computer such as password, username, and
IP address, and submits the information to a Web site.

Microsoft has issued a patch for this vulnerability. For additional information

5. Stirring up a Storm -- JAVA_STORM.A
------------------------------------------------------------------------
JAVA_STORM.A is a worm that exploits a vulnerability of Microsoft Internet
Information Services (IIS) 4.0 and 5.0 called Web Server Folder Traversal.
It opens several ports to allow a remote user access to an infected system.
Then the worm initiates a Denial of Service attack against www.microsoft.com
and sends email to gates@microsoft.com.
